Indonesia is home to a wealth of folklore and mythologies, and at the centre of them are deities and spirits with awe-inspiring strength. In Mobile Legends: Bang Bang ( MLBB ), these figures are celebrated as challengers in an ever-evolving battle arena. Here’s everything you need to know about two Indonesian legends: Kadita and Gatotkaca.
Kadita, the Queen of the Southern Seas
Inspired by the Sundanese folktale of Nyi Roro Kidul, Kadita brings the mystique of Indonesian maritime lore to the battlefield. Known as a revered sea goddess who controls the ocean and the weather, Kadita reincarnates in MLBB as a ferocious mermaid queen with mage and assassin skill sets.
Pro tip: Target the enemy’s backline with Kadita’s first Skill, Ocean Ode, which summons an ocean wave that will carry her in the target direction, deals Magic Damage and slows down enemies. Use her second Skill, Breath of the Ocean, to unleash ocean waves to knock enemies airborne. And time her Ultimate, Rough Waves, to hit multiple foes and turn the tide of battle in your favour.
Fun fact: Her newest skin, Heart of the Sea – the winning design from MLBB ’s skin design contest by an Indonesian illustrator – pays homage to Kadita’s mythological roots with intricate details like the million-year-old dragon-headed fish motif, symbolising ancient power and wisdom.
Gatotkaca, the Mighty Legend
Gatotkaca is a descendant of forest giants in Javanese folklore, and this champion of gods obtained his supernatural strength and the ability to fly after training in a cauldron. Staying true to his origins, MLBB ’s Gatotkaca is a tank fighter that flies across the skies equipped with his signature armour and gauntlets to hunt down his sworn enemies.
Pro tip: Leverage Gatotkaca’s durability to initiate team fights and absorb enemy damage. His third Skill, Unbreakable, allows him to engage enemies and disrupt their formation, while his Ultimate, Avatar of Guardian, can be used to jump into the heart of the battle, dealing significant damage and providing control for your team.
Fun fact: MLBB’ s depiction of Gatotkaca is based on the eponymous character from Garudayana , a popular comic book series by the Indonesian artist Is Yuniarto. Design elements are drawn from wayang , the traditional Indonesian shadow puppets.
