Fresh faces

After Hagrid whisks you off to Diagon Alley to choose your robes and a wand, you’ll meet your fellow students – a cast of characters new to Harry Potter lore. There’s the snooty Cassandra (a Slytherin, of course), and the mysterious Ivy – what’s the deal with the locket around her neck? Harry Potter: Magic Awakened ’s story feels like it could have sprung from the books, but this time, you’re the hero.

Old friends

While a lot has changed at Hogwarts, you’ll see plenty of familiar faces. Sneak into Headmistress McGonagall’s office to use her memory-capturing Pensieve or battle Voldemort as Dumbledore in a time-warp flashback to their epic confrontation inside the Ministry of Magic. Even Neville Longbottom is here as a professor of herbology. He always was a bright kid!

Supercharged charms

Combat here is a bewitching mix of real-time strategy and card-based battling. Unleash epic firestorms (Incendio!), blast foes with tornadoes (Ventus!) or even summon a troll to fight on your side. Not bad for a bunch of first-years!

School days

Hogwarts is more than just monsters and magic, of course. Play Quidditch for valuable rewards. Have a ball dancing at the Ball. Duel other students in thrilling multiplayer matchups. Head outdoors, hop on your broom, and take to the skies – you’re free to zip among the castle turrets or skim the surface of the Great Lake. How deep into the Forbidden Forest can you get?

Know before you go

Be sure to customise your deck to match the challenge ahead. Facing a werewolf? Don’t go rushing in with summoning charms – the cunning beast may turn your three-headed puppy against you! Have lots of low-cost attack spells like Stupefy and Inflatus? Equip the Echo of Harry Potter to boost damage done. Finding cards that work well together is simply spellbinding.
